On October 15th, The Sashbear Foundation hosted a free mental health talk for parents of swimmers competing at The Etobicoke Swim Club’s Hall of Fame Meet at the Etobicoke Olympium. "Supporting Your Athlete's Mental Health" was presented by Sashbear Program Manager Doreen Hyndman and Sashbear volunteer Karen Dunk-Green. Special thanks to Olympic swimmer, Brittany MacLean, for sharing some of her tips on how to help support your children’s mental health so they can be more resilient both in and out of the pool. And, warmest thanks to our wonderful team of Sashbear volunteers—Taruna, Jodi, Ann, Misako, Tony, Cheryl and Christiane, who spoke to hundreds of parents and children over the weekend about The Sashbear Foundation and Family Connections™. Together, we’re making waves for mental health!
